(c) Tony Powell, National Geographic  The world's most innovative scientists, conservationists, educators and storytellers gathered in Washington DC from June 8th to June 14t, 2019 at the National Geographic Society to discuss ways to create a sustainable future on Earth. At the National Geographics Awards on June 12th, 2019, Dr. Sylvia Earle presented the National Geographic / Buffett Awards for Leadership in Conservation to Patrícia Medici and Tomas Diagne. On June 14th, Dr. Sylvia Earle attended the ROLEX Awards for Enterprise at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. It was a fantastic evening celebrating the scientists, researchers and activists working to make the ocean– and the entire world– a better place.  A special shoutout to finalists Miranda Wang, Dr. Emma Camp and Dr. Pablo García Borboroglu for their groundbreaking work in investing in the health of the planet's oceans!
