Folks,
The legislative attacks on the Endangered Species Act are reaching a fever pitch in Congress. Earlier this month, Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) introduced a bill that would weaken the Endangered Species Act and last week, members of the House of Representatives introduced a package of bills that would set conservation back and harm wildlife.
Your senators could be the difference between endangered species surviving or losing protections. Join activists from around the country in taking the Stop Extinction Challenge and show up on August 10th to the office nearest you to speak out to stop extinction.
Speaking out in person by telling staffers how much you value plants, fish, and wildlife and the laws that protect them is one of–if not the–most valuable actions you can take as an activist. Calls, emails, and petitions are so important to keeping plants, fish, and wildlife safe, but when senators hear that constituents like you are taking the time to show up in person, they listen closely.
Can I count on you to join us and activists around the country on August 10th at 3 PM (your time)? Just click here to find an office and we will be in touch in the days ahead to prepare you for this quick visit.
Congress is likely to vote on many of these horrendous bills when they return from their August recess. Let's send them a message while they're home that their constituents expect them to protect plants, fish, and wildlife and the law that has successfully prevented extinction–the Endangered Species Act. Go to endangered.org/showup to take the first step and find your senators' offices.
Thank you for your commitment to wildlife and wild places.
Sincerely,
PS. Links not working? Visit endangered.org/showup to join us on August 10th for the Stop Extinction Challenge.
