For all your hard work, we thank you!

Thank You!
Dear folks,
Defending and protecting imperiled wildlife is constant work. It is often a commitment that goes unnoticed or underrecognized, so I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for fighting every day to give a voice to the wildlife we all love.
Whether you’ve stood up in state houses to speak out for habitat protection, planted trees along the Rio Grande, tagged horseshoe crabs in the Delaware Bay, or taken action for wildlife in countless other ways, we have noticed all you’ve done – and your passion fuels our work here at Defenders.
You are part of a nation-wide community of wildlife advocates that share an extraordinary drive to protect wildlife and wild places. Defenders like:
  • Kayla Calloway: In addition to being an active volunteer for our Southeast team’s outreach efforts, Kayla has helped organize and staff numerous events; including our participation in the Asheville March for Science and the 3-day Southeast Wildlife Expo.
  • Sue Small: A frequent volunteer in New Mexico, Sue regularly attends Defenders events like tree plantings and wetland restorations. Ahead of a D.C. lobby day in April, she collected signatures from organizations around the state in support of the Endangered Species Act!
  • Alex Marks: Alex has done everything from lobbying his Members of Congress in D.C. and in Colorado, to writing Letters to the Editor to his local newspapers promoting wildlife conservation, to helping to restore wildlife habitat and volunteering with high school students on Defenders’ behalf.
  • April McMorris: A super volunteer who regularly dedicates her time to supporting outreach projects in the Northwest, April does everything from data entry, to event planning, to promoting awareness about Southern Resident orcas and North Cascade grizzly bears.
These are just a few of the amazing people like yourself that give their time and talent to help create a better present and future for wildlife. Their dedication exemplifies the vital role everyday citizens play in conserving endangered species!
Whether you're out there getting your hands dirty in the field or making a difference as part of our online community, when you support Defenders you are taking a stand for wildlife.
Thank you for your continued commitment to protecting and preserving at-risk, threatened and endangered species and habitats.
Sincerely,
Deanna Steege
