This Photographer Evacuated Her Mom and Dogs From Harvey's Devastating Flooding
National Geographic photographer Erin Trieb is used to documenting war and conflict areas around the world, but while visiting family in Houston, she found herself documenting her own family while they evacuated Hurricane Harvey's devastating flooding.

This video is so compelling and emotional; Erin had to help evacuate her mother and three elderly dogs as the flood waters started to rise. It's a stark reminder that disaster can strike anywhere, even at home.

You'll Never Guess Which Animals Make These Sounds
This short, quiz-style video showcases five unique—and, in some cases, endangered—species in an entertaining and engaging way. We had a lot of fun creating this video, and we hope everyone enjoys taking the quiz as much as we did.

This Little-Known Ancient City Was Ahead of Its Time
Producing this video was an interesting challenge. Research material and video footage were relatively limited, compared to other ancient sites I'd studied. I ended up consulting dusty volumes written by one of Mohenjo Daro's original archaeologists, Sir John Marshall, during his expedition in the 1920s. The research and production process overall ended up feeling like a time warp.

The Extraordinary True Story of the First Camera Phone
I used to take my smartphone for granted, until I learned about the invention of the camera phone. On June 11, 1997, Phillipe Kahn jerry-rigged a mobile phone with a digital camera to document the birth of his daughter, Sophie. He held her in one arm and the camera in the other. The image is one of Time magazine's 100 most influential photos of all time. This short video from Conscious Minds re-enacts the birth of the camera phone, an invention that forever changed the way we document the world around us.
