Folks,
Last week, just in time for Climate Week in New York,
denim executivesfrom Levi’s, Gap, Guess and Lee,
made a big show over a weak commitment to take responsibility for their environmental impact --- IN TWO YEARS.
That’s right, these industry giants, the same ones that pump out new fashion trends faster than ever before,
are waiting TWO FULL YEARS to make new carbon reduction commitments.
Stand up against the filthy fashion industry - greenwashing just isn’t enough.
SumOfUs members like you have been going after these giants for months fighting for serious commitments from the industry. They've signed petitions, called corporate headquarters, and told friends and family about the importance of holding this multi-million dollar industry to task -- and
it’s making a big impact.
There’s nothing that scares these corporate billionaires more than bad press - but
greenwashing won’t save them. We’re fighting back hard to
demand these execs commit to the Paris Climate Agreement immediately, not two years from now.
Wildfires, hurricanes, and floods are wreaking havoc on the safety of our communities. The fashion industry is responsible for up to 5.4% of total global greenhouse gas emissions and its impact is increasing rapidly. With cheaper fashion choices being exported faster than ever before,
denim giants are raking in the profits while destroying our planet. This has to stop immediately
before it’s truly too late.
Stand up against the filthy fashion industry - greenwashing just isn’t enough.
