HELP PROTECT WILDLIFE IN ALASKA

MONUMENTS IN DANGER

Defending our national monuments has been a major priority for Defenders since President Trump ordered a “review“ of these special places. Recommendations on their fate have been kept a secret, but the administration may take aim at ten monuments, including Bears Ears, Cascade-Siskiyou, Gold Butte and Grand Staircase-Escalante.

WALLING OFF WILDLIFE

The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is home to more than half of all butterfly species found in North America and at least eight species that are protected under the Endangered Species Act. Expanding the border wall through the area would block migration corridors, degrade habitat and could even trap wildlife and drown animals during severe flooding events!

ORCAS IN PERIL

The Southern Resident orca population that lives in the Puget Sound is in serious jeopardy. After the death of a 2-year-old male orca, the population is at a 30-year low. They are suffering from two major problems: too much pollution and not enough fish to eat.
